1 Vrishabha Sankranti, commonly referred to as Vrushabha Sankraman, is a festival that marks the onset of the second month.
2 The festival occurs during the month of ‘Vaishakh’ in regional calendars and it is observed during the Hindu month of ‘Jyeshta’ (May–June).
3 The day is also known by the name of Brusha Sankranti in Odisha, where devotees celebrate it by taking a ritualistic bath known as Sankraman Snana.
4 Devotees pay a visit to the nearest Vishnu temples to seek blessings for a happy and prosperous life.
5 Pitra Tarpan (literally "fortnight of the ancestors") is specially conducted on Vrishabha Sankranti to offer holy water and food to the manes.
6 The Hindu priests recommend the devotees to practice Godan that is gifting cows on this propitious day.
